CanAfric Theatre is a non-profit collective of professional artists dedicated to elevating Afro-Canadian performing arts. Located in North Bay, Ontario, our mission is to enrich educational experiences for Canadian students from Pre-Kindergarten through Secondary School by weaving cultural literacy directly into the arts curriculum.
 
Our holistic programming engages students across five core disciplines:
 

Storytelling: Preserving history and oral heritage through traditional wisdom stories.
 
Music & Drumming: Exploring instrument origins, rhythmic structures, and their global musical influence.
 
Dance & Movement: Fostering physical expression through traditional and modern dance forms.
 
Visual Arts: Engaging creativity using regional African designs, textiles, and symbols.
 
Culinary Traditions: Understanding cultural heritage through regional foodways and ingredients.
